It is located in the town El Mocanal, in the north of the island El Hierro, the smallest of the Canary islands, located at 27 N latitude and 18 O longitude, the western most point in Europe, 278 square kilometres named by UNESCO a Biosphere Reserve in 2000. It has the most beautiful sea floor of the islands and natural ecological views makes this island along with the traditional life style of its inhabitants a dreamed of paradise within the ‘lucky islands’ as they call the Canary Islands. El Almendro house lies inside this paradise, located in the lower part of the town El Mocanal, in the north of the island, 450 m above sea level and with views of the island La Palma. It has a pleasant climate all year round, in a totally rural atmosphere where you can enjoy the tranquillity and serenity of the area. It has good transport to get around the island: thanks to the tunnel that was opened in august 2003, Valverde is only 5 minutes away and 10 minutes by car to the neighbouring village (Frontera). It has excellent views over the hillside, the sea and horizon. The house is very near long hiking trails where the tourist can take extended walks and drown in the beauty of its particular nature. It is also near the Peña lookout and the well of Las Calcosas.
